How do I assign material?
Use the Activity Settings panel to set open, due, and close dates for all assessments in the course. You can schedule lessons, pages, or other elements which will be added to the Course Calendar.
Your trial modules come with the complete test bank and end-of-chapter problem set for each chapter, which you can assign for practice or as a graded test.
To access the Activity Settings:
- On the left rail, click Instructor Tools, and then Activity Settings
2. Under the Activity Title you will see every module component that you can assign and the parameters you can apply to these components, including due dates, assigning marks for each test, the number of attempts and whether students will receive feedback.
3. For each activity you can:
• Select Graded, so results will appear in the Gradebook. (An activity not marked Graded will appear as Practice on the Dashboard.)
• Set the due date, as well as open and close dates if desired. (Once an assessment has a due date it will appear on the Dashboard.)
• Set the maximum number of attempts. Blank means infinite attempts.
• Set the time limit, if desired.
• Select when students see their score.
• Select when students receive feedback on individual questions with the following options:
On Submit – as soon as the student submits regardless of attempts
After Max Attempts – only when the student has submitted the maximum number of attempts (for example, if two attempts are allowed, a student would not see question feedback after the first submission, but would after the second)
After Close – upon the date and time when the quiz closes (in this case, all students get feedback at the same time)
Never – students are not provided any feedback.
4. To edit an activity or multiple activities, click the check box on the left of the activities that you’d like to change and click "Batch Edit" on the top right of the screen. Then update Dates and Settings for all selected activities. Note that this will overwrite existing values and parameters on those activities.
